I just picked up a new 2012 XF Portfolio last Saturday. In the arm rest, i have a hook up for the USB, iPod, and the aux input. Is the car supposed to come with the iPod cable?? I'm just wondering if someone at the dealer swiped it or if its something i need to purchase separately.

On a side note, im LOVING the XF!!! I came from an 2006 Audi A6 and 2008 BMW 335i Convertible.

Mine didn't come with one either. I use my iphone/ipod cable and it works fine. Charges the phone as well.

 

@Executive - Awesome, thanks! I guess i'm just use to BMW and Audi being that they have a "special" adapter they make you use and charge you $200+ for it.

 

2012 should have adopted Apple's current standard without the need for an adapter. Older XF need the adapter.

 

My sales person gave me an ipod cable with my car for free. It may be an accessory that is an additional cost.

 

Jaguny, your salesman did not "give" you the cable any more than he "gave" you the headlights. The 2011 XF Supercharged comes with the B & W sound system, which includes the cable.

 

Maybe I should let him know on my next visit. Being of member of this forum is a good thing.

 

My 2012 did not come with one. However, I "paired" it with the car and have full access to the phone and .mp3 functionality via the BlueTooth interface.
