Default 630bhp XFR (560whp)

Seen this VSPerformance tuned XFR on YouTube killing some pretty tasty machinery..

Here are the specs for the mods...

Nb I don't speak Russian either but Google translate works well enough..

Their uprated pulley and water pumps sound interesting! As do the cat less dps - they must code out the CEL issues..

Yeah i saw that too.........just not sure i'm buying the claimed power.

the race against the GTR is interesting as those things are crazy quick!!!

The XFR does have a really quick 50-70 though so could be true........looks like this guy has some extensive exhaust mods/pulley/map and uprated intercooler pump as said.

There is a vid of a dyno run - pre pulley install where it made like 590Bhp. Some guys on here are making 540whp with cats - 560whp without cats and with a more aggressive tune could be feasible. They also uprated the cooling because the pulley generates too much heat.. Its probably smaller than the +1.5psi pulleys ones commonly used.

The pulley is 65mm stock - the new one is 60.7mm. Can anyone calculate the added boost?

Looks like he flashed the car with Euro2 specs - removing the rear lambda sensors and coding out the O2 errors/cel.

Water pump from a Merc w221 S-class..

Great detective work!!! The problem with dyno's as i found out........is there is no way that you can accurately get a figure on hp. 600whp on one dyno may be 500 on another.......they only really have a use to tell you if the mods you are doing are adding power or not...........

Whilst I agree about dynos. I think on the balance of the evidence - 0-100mph in 8.5 secs after a 0-60mph in 4.6 tells me he's got a huge power advantage over stock. The fact that he's used an upgraded waterpump shows that he's pushing things - not running rich like most of the COTS maps.

The critical thing for me is he's a street racer! He's tuning to race - not for big dyno numbers!

Hate to burst your bubble but 4.6 to 60 in one of these isn't saying much. The 8.5 to 100 mph is much more impressive though.

I think you need to re-read what I wrote:

4.6secs is the standard time but the fact that he did the 60-100mph in 3.9 secs tells me he potentially had some traction issues early on... I expect over 100mph is where the difference is really felt.

So I found out a little more about this particular car via one of our friends in Moscow.

The car is currently on it's 2nd engine, the first tune they did was extremely lean and damaged the pistons due to detonation and a quick slap-together rebuild was done. It now has custom pistons in it but the rest of the engine is stock & there's a lot of re-used parts in it. Other mods are a pulley, & Bosch intercooler pump, cats deleted and an x-pipe in the exhaust. K&N panel filters in the stock air boxes. The tune is still very lean and it pings on 95RON fuel. It's not a safe tune.

Apparently the car is up for sale locally now.

Good to know he was pushing it! Better him than me though!

I'm not going to push the limits on mine but would like to make 600bhp (crank) ideally. 200cell cats, x-pipe and less restrictive muffler (done), less restrictive intake, pulley and remap seems to be the ticket.. Add in methanol for safety and consistency?
