Default Adaptive Dynamics Fault

Hello guys new to the group. I have a 2009 Jaguar XF supercharged and about an hour ago my adaptive dynamics fault light came on. Before it came on my car completely stalled while I was driving and would start which led me into getting it towed. Has this happened to anyone. I absolutely love my vehicle but I can not understand why is this happening. Might I add I went to press the brakes and it did something really weird before if decided it didn't want to take off as I was pulling out of the parking lot. Has this happened to anyone and how was it resolved #SuperFustrated 😡

Could be anything at this point without more information - these cars (and their Land Rover cousins) are full of electronics all talking to each other that get really grumpy when the battery starts to fail and voltages aren't what they should be. If the battery is newish or tests out fine, then you need to get some diagnostic codes read to find out who is most upset and why. I'm sure there's an ECU module that's just as SuperFrustrated as you are but there's not enough information to give you a diagnosis at this point.

@Bigg Will you know what I never thought of the battery. To be honest I've never replaced my battery since I had my vehicle. I'll definitely check it out. My apologies I'm new at this I hope the response goes to the correct person. Lol thanks again

Wow, well a bad battery can cause all sorts of issues in the XF. if your battery is over 4 yrs old I'd start there.

My battery is definitely over 4 yrs old and I'm hoping that its just a battery issue. I'm getting it towed first thing in the morning. I will definitely keep you posted. Thanks

I know from experience, that I was having issues with my cat, and it was all due to a bad battery. Once the battery was changed, everything purred...these "hyper computerized" cars need good juice flowing through it at all times...if not, things start to happen...
With that said, I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE my Cat!!!!!

Default Adaptive Dynamics Fault 👎🏾

Well I found out today that it's definitely not my battery. It's my fuel pump not very happy today. I'm definitely afraid to hear the price on this one. Ugh 😰

Fuel pump causing a active Dynamics fault? Well a bad battery can also give you poor fuel pump performance, since one of the 3 fuel pumps is electric (5 liter) and in the fuel tank. The other 2 are on the passenger side of the engine. And in all the XF post I've read in the last 2yrs I've never heard of a fuel pump going bad 5.0 or 4.2..just saying.

Well if its not the battery, the Active Dynamics and the fuel pump problems may be unrelated. I would expect the AD fault to log some kind of fault code in the ECM, the fuel pump maybe not. If you get a big estimate you might want a second opinion...

I'm definitely looking into it. It really seemed to me like it really was the battery. Ugh. Thxs

Was there any resolution to the AD fault. I read your post that it was the Fuel Pump, but there were question on whether that truly was the issue. There seemed to be a school of thought that it was a battery over four years old.
