aftermarket paddles?
The paddle upgrade that Jag sells includes more than just the aluminum paddles. It's an entire assembly that includes the hinge and circuit board. It must be easier to swap by supplying the entire assembly.
They are awesome.. I guess that's something else that I must added to the list. Outstanding job jahummer.. This is why I love this forum..
Thanks How is the install? Easy to just replace with the existing paddles?
They might be molded over the originals. Getting the stock paddles separated from the circuit board/switch didn't look easy. I'm not sure it can be done without cutting/breaking the plastic casing holding them in. Here are close up pictures of the stock ones removed. This site sells a carbon set for the XF.

The other CF ones from the site look fatter not as long...and looks like the simply go over your existing for half the price?
Very easy. Remove the screw that holds in yours and replace with the new ones. They are complete with new OE Jaguar electrics.

If I read the posts correctly...he is creating with new OEM paddles and you will remove your old...and hold onto them...so you may be right ..he is going over new paddles supplied by dealer...hense 400$ for new device.

Here are those Chinese designed paddles they do leave a bit to be desired but it's mostly the design not that fact that they are stick on. I'm sure they still function as intended.
I bought a set of those Chinese ones a few days ago, they should roll up any day now.
But in the meantime I am upgrading to an XFR, which I won't pick up for a week or so yet.
When I get both the car and the paddle extensions I'll fit them and see how they look, feel and work. I intend not to use the grub screws they come with, as that surely will put holes or dents in the edges of the original paddles, instead I plan to stick the extensions on with thin double sided tape.

Ok, all new paddles are spoken for in the first batch, unless you want to send me your paddles and still get in this group. Let me know. I wiped out everything Jaguar USA & UK had in stock and waiting on confirmation when they will have more so I can start planning the next run.

I fitted them a couple of days ago, sorry, no pics.
I was wary of the grub screws used to hold them in place, guessing that they would mark the existing paddles a fair bit, so I decided to stick the extensions on with double sided tape instead of using the grub screws. First time this didn't work all that well, the paddles came loose fairly easily. Second time I used thicker tape (first time was very thin tape), and now they stick well.
I haven't noticed any real improvement in feel or action.
BUT, I will be removing them in a short while.
Why? Because the right "+" paddle extension interferes with the "pull the stalk in" one touch windscreen wipe, which I attempted to use for the first time in a long time last night. It completely blocks the operation of this very handy feature.
So the extensions have to go.
