Alarm Malfunction
Thanks. Will do. Didn't realize they could get this data.
Another quirk I've noticed is that twice now (over a period of three months) when shifting from P to D, there's no engagement of the transmission. Another switch to P and back toD and no problem.

Ive owned my XF for about 3 months in that time frame the alarm has gone off for no reason about 7 times....only when outside.....car is usually in the garage....is it possible that extreme heat could set off the alarm sensors?
Does the XF have ultrasonic interior sensors? My Audi had these and I would have my alarm go off if anything in the car fell or moved even a 1/4 of an inch. My tollbooth pass consistently fell off of my windshield 3 times a week and set my alarm off every time..

As for the transmission not shifting into drive make sure you press the brake pedal all the way in because the car wont let you shift otherwise its a safety feature that is explained in the manual I have played with this a little and just pushing the brake in a little causes it not to shift you have to firmly press it.
Hope this helps.
