Sorry couldn't figure out how to post a video ..I copied and pasted a link but it didn't work ..But you can copy the link I posted and it will play ..Obviously it doesn't sound good ..Ive looked everywhere online and can't find the same sound it's making ..I do smell burnt fuel so I'm thinking injectors but not sure if they would make that tapping/knocking noise ..Thanks in advance

 

From the video, it seems to be the supercharger snout coupling, but it's difficult to tell for certain.

 

Well I know for sure it's not that because the supercharger belt is off. .I'm thinking something to do with the injectors but it's just a weird noise I've never heard before ,just because I was smelling a weird smell ..

After listening to it again I can't even really hear the knocking sound over how loud the idle is

 

I guess I'll try to take another video and isolate the knocking sound

 

Mechanical Fuel pump is the buzzing. The clanking sounds like a bearing.....

Put your hand on the fuel line crossing the engine and see if the vibration feeling matches the sound. It runs across the intercooler up there and the sound echoes so it sounds like the supercharger. Mine goes away when its warmed up, does yours?

Here is a TSB about rattling noisy mechanical fuel pumps. I never got aroudn to replacing mine.

Well I got the car at copart and it had zero gas in it ..When I started it the first time I originally thought it was the timing chain. but I'm getting a restricted performance warning and check engine .I have a friend of my dad's coming over to put it on his computer to see what it says...But I was smelling some gas so that's what made me think it was something with the fuel injectors or pump .

 

Yes, fuel pump rattle makes you think timing chain. BUt I hear a definite knock too?

 

Definitely a knocking..can't hear it great in the video ..

 

Also the rpms are bouncing between 500 and 900

So I put the scanner on it and got code p0017 ..any ideas what it could be with the noise in the video restricted performance and jumping rpms? I know it's very difficult to diagnose over the internet but I'd like to try to narrow it down to a few things to try .

 

So I changed the oil the other day ..it was black ,after changing the oil it did idle a little smoother but still not right ..
