Body Codes
I have an ELM327 OBD adapter and several Android apps, none of which reads the Jag body codes. I suspect the problem is the adapter which is 6 or 8 years old. I want to stick with Bluetooth. Anyone have an adapter/app combination that reads the B codes from "medium speed" CAN bus? I guess I don't want the info bad enough to drop several hundred $ into a full blown diagnostic tool for 1 or 2 searches a year - I'm not in business. And I sure don't understand why the dealers want $175 to $235 "diagnostic charge" to hook up.
Thought I would add this response from Veepeak, an OBD adapter manufacturer. My backup camera / parking aid may be lost forever. I haven't been able to use the recommended troubleshooting (listening for high frequency clicking or feeling the sensors for buzzing) because the system shuts down after a few seconds and remains off until the next start up. I have already spent $100+ to have the codes read, replaced the sensor the code implicated, and didn't fix the problem. This is a very convenient and habit forming option, but isn't worth hundreds of dollars to fix. I'll keep looking for a DIY solution but I am not encouraged.Hi Terry,
Thank you for your message. If the module is on the MS-CAN bus, then our adapter may not be able to access it to read codes. You will need something else to access modules on MS-CAN.
Thanks,
John

Message: I need to read the body codes on my 2104 Jaguar XF to fix my parking aid. The parking aid controller runs on the medium speed CAN bus, which they bring out on pins 3 and 11 in the OBD connector. CaRPM says your bluetooth adapter works well with their software. Will that combination read all my jaguar body codes?
