Default Buying an xf, need wisdom from owners

Hello all, i have this dilemma. I love the xf, ive taken two test drives. The problem i have is i dont have a jag dealership in my city, the closest one is 3 hours away. So if it breaks, (and from what ive read it will) i will have to get it towed and make a 3 hour drive to pick it up. So would you guys recommend this pain in the *** procedure? Is it worth it just to own the car? Or am i better off buying a car from my city? Thanks in advance.

That is something only you can answer. I personally only own cars I can have repaired by the dealer locally. I do not mind to have other people work on it or myself but when it comes to a big issue that is possibly covered by warranty etc I do not want the added trouble of spending half a day just getting to and fro .... but that is just me. Some people have to have the rare bird and are willing to pay the price...

The dealership may offer a white glove service, They drop off a like car and pick-up my car. I live about 90 minutes from the dealership.

3 hours away is tough to swallow...the white glove service ( if available ) would help but still tough.

Unfortunately they dont offer such a service, thanks for your guys opinions. Too bad, you guys seem a lot friendlier than the bmw forums which is likely where i will end up.

Is there a reputable independent shop in your town? If you bought an XF that was off warranty then it might make sense.

Nope, all the mechanics in my city can barely handle a honda lol. European cars are too advanced i guess... Plus i wouldnt want a high end car with no warranty.

Since 2000 I've had 3 S-types and 2 XFs. Maybe I'm lucky, but none of them have had a failure that required towing. I was always able to drive to a dealer within 90 miles.
