Default Change or not change oil.

Hi guys my xfr has been sitting the whole year without being driven, the service required light will soon come on based on the yearly service.

Question should I change the oil or just reset, the oil and filter was changed last time.

I do not put a lot of miles on mine anymore, maybe 5k or 6K annually. However I change the oil & filter once a year. Cheap insurance for what is a very expensive engine to fix.

p.s. letting it sit is very bad for these cars. Things go bad quickly when they are not driven regularly.

Ouch! Find a way to drive it at least every month for at least 20 miles / 20 mins.

Change the oil - you're risking a terrible outcome.

If you really can't do the above, sell the car to protect your money.

What could go wrong ? , i do start it every month or so battery is really good starts right away, it's garage stored with a cover on, in a good climate.

Unfortunately I can't drive it a lot, we are suffering from a lot of violent robberies, they cut in front of you and get out with a gun, around 50 of these cases daily, not to mention the high gas prices, i have tried to sell it but the economic crisis is terrible here people barely have to feed themselves. And these types of car are what thief's are after.

It's an xfr in mint condition has only 30.000 km on the clock.

Chile, it's turning into hell here, we are among the country with highest inflation world wide, gas prices are just crazy, and more delinquency than Mexico, we are ranked number 18 with terrorism next to Iran, 3 years ago we where the most prosper country in south America, this is what happens when you get communists in government.

Anyway I'll try to take it out for a 20 min spin once a month.

Sorry to hear of your situation. Let's hope you stay safe!!
But I have to admit you are probably a rare bird in Chile with an XFR! You will stand out no matter what you do.
