Default Clear turn signals instead of Amber on XF

Hello Jag Enthusiasts ,

I've seen pictures of XF's with clear turn signal instead of the amber lights.

I was wondering if anyone knows if by just replacing the bulbs with clear or LED bulbs will acquire this look or does a new headlight assembly with clear turn signals need to be purchased

Not sure if it's worth taking the lamps apart. Just go on ebayuk and buy a pair with clear lenses.

Dgianno, the clear turn signals are part of the facelift that occurred in 2012. So, the question then becomes whether the 2012 headlights will fit on your car. Just getting into the XF's right now and need to learn a lot about them.

By the way, please stop by the New Member section and say a little bit about yourself. We pride ourselves on being a different car club and as part of this, we like to get to know one another. This will also give you a chance to meet those that make this place what it is.

Thermo, glad to see that you are taking the next step as I did. Hope you are as resourceful here as you were on "the other" section!

hlgeorge, if I do get an XF, you can be garanteed that I will be neck deep into the car and figuring out ways to keep the cars unique and running in tip top shape. The only thing that I would need at first is a good set of schematics. But, that will come with time.

The 2012 lights will not bolt up to the pre 2012 XF without changing out panels (hood, bumper and fender). The light will fit if those panels are changed. Even the connector is identical. I'm not sure on the pinout but I'd imagine the LED addition would change the pinout. It probably wouldn't be worth the cost unless you found a wrecked 2012+ that you could get parts off of for cheap.

It's not hard to take apart a set of headlights and remove the orange "lenses". I have done it on three separate cars. I am debating doing it to my XFR and adding these ZKW-R lenses I have had sitting around for a few years to the projector assemblies.

All you need at that point is an amber colored turn signal bulb to stay legal, which you can find pretty easily.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I neglected to give further detail.

I just purchased a 2012 XFR. White exterior with the Black Pack. Love the way it looks except for the amber front turn signal lenses. These are what I want to change to clear. I've seen many pictures of XF's with these clear lenses instead of amber but I have not been able to find any link or part for those. Does anyone have this.

On mine the turns signals are only amber when activated; otherwise they appear clear.

Are you talking about the turn signals or the side markers?

The turn signals are clear, side markers aren't. Which is due to different regulations in UK vs US.

UK XF

US XF

If you want clear corner lamps, just purchase those lights on ebayuk
