I get this weird clicking sound that's coming from the front of my 2014 XF AWD, I can't pinpoint exactly where but sometimes i can feel a VERY minor jolt from the gas petal. This sound/jolt only happens once at exactly 10 MPH, afterwards the car drives perfect. And to hear this sound again, i would have to park the car for a few hours (or overnight) then restart. I tried explaining the problem to the dealer during my 32K maintenance but they couldn't find anything... anyone here has any idea what maybe causing this?

 

I think probably a minor movement of the brake pads which have a little free play. I have it too.

 

I am hoping that is the case but the sound seems to be come from somewhere under the hood as opposed to from anywhere near the tires. This car is about to run out of warranty in a few months, i might just have to leave the car at the dealer overnight and have a mechanic sit with me to hear the sound.

 

That sounds like the ABS doing its self test. If you start the car up new, start to drive then around 10mph the abs self tests the braking system with a 'clunk'. Perfectly normal
