Default Do You Like the Original XF Headlights or the Newer Ones?

I was at our local dealer toying with the idea of trading to a newer model when it dawned on me that I prefer the look of the original XF headlight set up.

I'm not quite sure but I think the newer look has had led and non led versions and for some reason they have lost some of the Jagness in my eyes. I do not like the led strips at all.

I left the dealership very happily with my '09.

What are the thoughts out there?

Don't like led, like the 2012 shape redesign. I think BMW has distinguished themselves without going Audish with their headlight designs.

I like the new style more. I have a 2010 SC.

Just stare at the old design (09) and you begin to see a slight familiarity of the old but distinguished headlights ......just a subtle reminder of the old days, giving it again a classy look. Notice the rise and roll of the sheet metal back towards the windshield, while smoothly blending into the new updated design. The new headlight design is nicely blended in with straight lines reminding you that you look just like everyone else ! As for the LEDs.....well I gave up counting the infinite number of design patterns on the road....shame on Jaguar for copying anyone.

It's just a personal preference for anyone. I have the '12 and love it. I like the LED look as it is the "modern" design of today. I have also replaced all of the incandescent lighting inside of my car with LED lighting.

Jaguar kept the "quad" headlight look partly for connection to the XJ6 styling cues and partly for money reasons. When the new XJ was under development the new headlight design became inevitable. Old isn't Jaguar, the company has a history of trend setting design lost during the Ford years.

I like the nose on the 2012s. One of my favorite elements is the new headlamp design allowed for more of an upright grill, which i like.
