Default Door double-locking

Just looking for something else in the Quick Start guide and noticed for door locking it says press the button on the door twice within 3 seconds to double-lock the doors. What's the difference between that and just pushing the button once which I've always done? Doors are locked after one push, so what extra does double locking do
thanks!

In my experience it sets the horn. Idk if you don't "double lock" if for some reason the door is opened without they key or remote that the horn will sound?? One push doors lock, second push horn beeps.

Double lock.... Puts the locks in a state that they can not be opened from inside ( if someone breaks a window )

Also in my experience with Rovers... double locking means if the battery runs dead and you have it double locked you will not be able to open the vehicle at all... unless they fixed this issue...

With Single Locking, the interior handles still operate.

With Double Locking, the doors cannot be opened from inside or outside the vehicle.

Double Locking is an additional security measure.

A bit late to post on this thread but double locking and auto relocking are not available for North American US vehicles even though they may be indicated in the owner manual or quick start book. Not sure why auto relocking is not allowed but in the case of double locking, it must be a legal thing so we can't absent-mindedly trap our offspring in the vehicle. (Similar to not having key-fob or dash-mounted global close so we can't accidently squish offspring in the windows.)
