Default E-diff system fault XFR and Traction Faults

Whats up guys,

So my buddy has an 2010 XFR and recently hes been getting an "E-diff system fault" warning. He took it to the dealership here in Nigeria and they said that they had never seen that error before and didn't know how to solve the problem. . I pushed the dsc button and that gave gave another traction related problem. I know the e-diff only comes on the supercharged and xfr. Any thoughts?

I got that error once when I first got it smogged as it was on a dyno. After driving it about 10 miles all the alerts stopped. The dealer should certainly no what the issue is.

Got same error yesterday on 2010 XFR, I will let them change oil in the first place, somebody recomended me 720 BOT Castrol 75w90 with GL5+ instead of standard 75w140.

Before the error showed up my car started to struggle a bit in turnings at low speeds, like going thru snow layer with rear wheels, first i thought it could be new rims from XFR-S which were fitted a day ago but they are exactly the same size. Then realised that all this happened after 3 week standing in the cold (near 0 temperatures). So maybe oil got cold? Idk. Will keep you informed. Hope its not e-diff

Raulan, if it continues to have issues in slow turns, it doesn't sound good for you. That's what mine did right before it gave up the ghost on me. Hope it's something else unless you have warranty.

kyanite XFR, looks like you're right. Oil was changed today earlier, mechanic found some small metal pieces in the old oil, so already looking for new diff :-(

Fortunately mine did it while still under factory warranty. Wish you luck.

Can't remember what they said the exact cause was but it had something to do with the clutch packs on the diff getting stuck and causing damage

I believe there is a service bulletin on this. Not sure it would impact if you have to pay or not, but worth looking into.

We have also heard it was from the supplier to Jaguar who did not flush the housing properly after machining. Left cutting solvent in the rear end to mix with the rear end oil.

Not sure if it's true?
