Default Extended Warranty

So with my current extended warranty expiring on my 2012 XFR I am able to get another extended warranty. I do plan to keep the car another 3-4 years. Anyone had experience with Endurance Warranty (Smart AutoCare)? Also, what are the chances I would rack up $5500 in repairs in the next 3-4 years. The car currently has 68K miles on it. No issues

- 4 Yrs / 48 Months
- $5500
- $100 Deductible
- Exclusionary Policy
- Transferable
- Endurance Warranty (Smart AutoCare underwriter)

the chances of racking up that much in repairs is TOTALLY possible, however....what are the chances that the insurance pays out that much? thats the question.

I too had an aftermarket warranty on my 2011 XFR, CARCHEX titanium package, so it basically covered every single nut and bolt......but when it actually came down to it, they never covered a dime.
- a week after my warranty started (after the warming period) my alternator broke.....the inspector came, said that it was a previous issue, didnt cover the repair ($1200)
- 1 year later, took the car to jaguar for a bunch of diagnostics (auto wiper sensor stopped, auto headlight sensor stopped, timing chain issue, fuel filler neck was an issue)........making a long story short, after FOUR WEEKS of back and fourth and waiting......carchex only said they would cover 80% of the cost of the sensors....and STILL needed to do a diagnostic on the timing chain, apparently the diagnosis from jaguar was not enough. the catch here was, they wanted jaguar to take apart the engine a bit more....BUT if it turned out that the timing chain ISNT an issue....i would have to pay out of pocket for the additional tear-down

anyways, YMMV, wishing you better luck than i had....make sure you're paying on a monthly basis and not 1 lump sum....in case you need to pull out before the 4 years.

Excuse my language but f*** extended warranties. My Jaguar CPO warranty fell short of covering most things like:

- Warped brake rotors (couple months after purchase)
- Driver side lumbar and cooling ( you may have spilled something with no evidence to back their claim)
- Passenger side heating (same as above)
- Supercharger (coupler/snout damaged, not covered unless the car stops working)
- Back up Camera (stops working intermittently, unless the service tech witnesses it first hand, it wont be repaired despite submitting video recording)
- Bad fuel economy (possibly related to bad fuel pump or a sensor, cant find the problem, pay extra if you really wants us to dog into it)
- Driver side door latch ( stuck in unlatched position, that's due to cold weather, works fine when it's warmer so....no)

I've never purchased extended warranties, especially aftermarket options sold by dealerships. I imagine factory warranty is more accommodating than CPO "extended factory warranty", but any aftermarket options will most likely leave a bitter note once claims are made.

I had an extended warranty on my '05 X-Type, but it was a Ford warranty that I got from a Ford dealer. It applied since Jaguar was a Ford at the time.
It paid for itself many times over, claims were never denied, it even covered stuff that the original Jaguar new car warranty didn't.
They don't make 'em like that anymore...

I agree my current extended warranty expire has paid for itself x 2 at least. The warranties I'm being quoted now are written in such shady language.
