Hellcats are routinely built to 1500HP and beyond so they do crazy stuff like twisting drive shafts in two and busting rear axles because of the vast amount of power they are putting down.
Here is one shop that builds these tremendous ZF 8 speeds. Note the power ratings listed. yea-1350 ft-lb of torque at the crank! They are WAY beyond anything a modified Jaguar has ever put out. If your really serious I would have a talk with them before doing anything or ordering any parts. Note at the bottom of their ad it says :
"Parmount Performance Products also produce high performance transmission solutions for foreign platforms as well."

It would appear that the 8 speed does, however that is simply not true. There is no Billet Planetary, billet first gear, billet forward shaft, billet intermediate shaft, billet valve bodies, billet torque converter, billet mechatronic seal, available for the 8sp. All of those are available on the 6sp. The 6 sp are programmable as long as there is an external TCU on the trans. There are
there is one 8sp car that ran a 8.4 with the Paramount built trans here. The 6 sp is faster. And has more built parts and holds higher WHP. If you think that a 8.4 is close to a 7.7 q-mile, then your mistaken.

You didn't read the 6 sp is putting 1700+WHP (2000HP crank) through it? That is a lot more than the 1500HP crank that the hellcats are putting out through the 8sp.

Bottom line, ALL of the hellcats running faster than 8's are replacing their ZF8 with a liberty or lenco trans. The ZF6/6sp's are still keeping theirs and getting faster.

Viezu now offer tunes for the 6sp. I need to contact them and see if they can modify the same specs as the built 6R80's.
