OK, I can of course do this for the currently installed XF seat base, however the position of the X351 seat base was not fully back when I removed from car couple of xears ago and I have now partly dismanteled it - I removed the rail with sensor as well as all motors etc.
I understand what you mean and I will try to find a way to fully retract back the X351 seat base manually or, failing that, try to mark the position accuartely as you also suggest.

be aware, some sensors are also paired with the gel seat pad occupancy sensor its self, and are not interchangeable, so you may have to use your original passenger seat occupancy gel pack under the new cover, this does take a lot of disassembly to achieve mindBB
Yes, I also transplanted the passenger seat gel sensor together with the heated pad and everything working fine there. Actually there sould not be an issue with the passenger side anyway, considering it does not have a position sensor in the rail. I never tried the passenger seat previously so presumably it will not suffer from creep-mode issues.

Indeed, driverless option not available.

Yes, I will try to get everything working using the X351 switch-packs. However if the heated seat pad wiring issues are too complicated with the X351 loom I may just leave as is (currently still much better than previously).
Thanks a lot for your continued help!

Hi, after having just fitted 2015 XF seats to my 2010 XF i may be able to help you out. (both X250)
Thing's i now know:
1. The new cars did not have the position seat sensor on the passenger side. This caused the airbag light to be on. (I think the XFR had the newer style seats pre face-lift tho not 100% on that).
Fix, drill out the rivets holding the sensor on the old seat and rivet to the new seat.

2.Inch mode is when the seat module has lost communication to the car. (can be caused by bad sensors too but i think only the motor with the failed sensor goes into inch mode then).
Fix, make sure the MS-CAN BUS twisted pair are connected to the seat - Note pre face-lift cars do not have these wires on the passenger side so must be added.
This also may need the module to be programmed to the car. Wires are VT-OR (Purple with Orange strip) & GY-OR (Grey with Orange strip).

3. The newer seats have a GY (grey) wire from the seat belt system.
Fix, This needs to be connected the ground, newer cars RCM has this wire going back to it, but pre face-lift this is just grounded.

Hope this info helps you out

Hello Philip Seal (or anyone willing to offer some help)
I have a passenger seat out of a 2013 X351 ($40 junk yard find) that I am converting to a desk chair. The seat is a 12-way + 4-way lumbar + bolster & climate system.
Issue #1
The issue I am having is it is stuck in the inch-mode. Do you have any ideas of how to fix this? I obviously do not have seat hooked to the car to have CAN communication. I am open to any suggestions
Issue #2
Also, my lumbar pump does not turn ON when activating the switches. My current work around is to feed power to the pump and leave ON while I am using the lumbar controls. But, if possible I would like to have the switches activate the pump ON/OFF.
Any help is appreciated!

Hi Krompy, so with issue #1 for you the only fix is to bypass the control module, this makes it like the very basic seats which dont link up with the car.

To do this you are going to need a multi-meter and soldering iron. Currently the switches are connected to the control module, you need to change that so they control the motors direct, i suggest getting the wiring diagram for the x351 to help with the wire tracing.

For the second issue that sounds like you have not connected all 3 power cables, the lumbar control is separate from the rest of the system, so the lumbar will work without issue even tho the rest is in inch mode.

Let us know if you want any more help, happy to go through the wiring diagrams with you.
