Has anyone had the gas cap problem where it just keeps showing on your dashboard check gas cap I bought a brand new one from eBay it wasn't that expensive but I don't know if it's throwing off a code or not does anyone know where I can purchase one the dealer $178 I'm not paying that much so maybe someone knows where I can get one under 40 somewhere where it will work please let me know thank you

 

I didn't realize that a Jaguar gas cap cost so much. Recently, our regular gas station forgot to put the gas cap back on (I removed the tether that prevents this from happening so that the gas cap doesn't ding the car when you drop it). The owner of the gas station who knows me didn't make a big deal of it and just ordered a new one. I wonder if he bought a Jaguar OEM one or a cheaper aftermarket alternative. In any event, I don't care because it works just fine.

 

Why not try clearing the code, and see if that solves the issue? Just disconnect both the negative and positive battery cable, and touch the ends together. It’s called a hard reset.
