Default Got it

Well I went and bought it. I'm now a XF owner. Hello forum!!

2011 xf premium 62k miles.
its in great shape, minus the bubbled dash.

the carfax report says it was serviced at the dealership its whole life.

two waterpumps already, and at 60k the transmission was replaced.

so far I'm liking it. I need to find a nice bluetooth audio adapter. using one now in the aux port. I think I can get one that goes in the iPod port.

any fun things anyone recommends to watch out for and check sometimes?
I plan on using this at my daily, I put bout 15-17k a year in my cars.
just unloaded my Range Rover sport with 200k. no probs at all sad to see it go.
I hope this will go that long.

Welcome! Sounds like a great car.

For BT streaming try the Tune2Air (wma1000 I think). Connects to the iPod connector, streams Bluetooth, gives integration to controls eg track skip fwd and backwards and displays song name on the screen

Has it had recent service? If not, would definitely do oil. Water pumps you clearly know about already. Aside from that, not sure there is anything chronic on these. Happy driving!

Thanks for the info.
I have been stupid and reading horror stories on the Xf's some are worse than the XJS.
Im getting a bit nervous now. Did I make a booboo? picking this beauty up?
There is only so much I can fix myself, due to all the electronic stuff. if things go wrong.
I think I'm over thinking it all.
any thoughts?

I checked out extended warranty and it it’s just having another car payment which is something I cannot afford it I’m sure I’ll be OK I’m pretty mechanically inclined.
I heard people say that it’s hard to work on the older Jags but the newer ones I find Way more intimidating. I could tell you whether it v12 or XK engine is running perfectly by just the way it sounds these guys know idea lol it’s gonna be a fun Learning experience.

As always a whole range of experiences. Mine has been terrific / by far the most reliable car I’ve ever owned. And for some of the smaller issues if you’re game to have a go, the help on this forum is terrific
So I’d say enjoy it, keep up with the preventative maintenance and have a good independent shop when you need it

@britcars thanks for the confidence, if I can bring back to life a few xis's and xj coupes I can keep the xf up and running.

I now have had it for 2 days and used for work today, and I had a blast driving down HW 280 here in the Bay Area. the thing is a beast, idk how I could deal with a supercharged one!!

Give it a little while. If you had a supercharged, you'd want an XFR. If you had an XFR you'd want to tune it. Trust me, I know!

I had the same feeling after I got my XFR last December - every new noise was a 'oh no, the engine's going to explode' moment. 10 months and about 10k miles in, and I've finally stopped thinking it's going to suffer a catastrophic failure every 5 minutes.

Enjoy it!
