Help with bi xenon lights
Hey Guys,
I just purchased a XF and just realized it didn't have xenon lights on it and the standard halogen. To my dumb mistake I thought it would because of the projectors on the car.
So now I'm wondering if anyone has done this buy purchased the bi-xenon after and installed it themselves or taken it in to do so? If so how much is this going to cost roughly. Or if anyone can direct to where I can purchase them other than Jaguar.
Looking for OEM not really for aftermarket product.
Thanks

Last year I did a conversion to HID on my Lexus GS300. It was very easy and the results were beyond my expectations. Took under 1 hr to install.
I used the www.hidxenonlights.com and AGT digital HID Kit Slim ballasts for $149.99 and specified the 6000 kelvin bulbs (whitest white).
Unbelievable difference and after 1 year they are working like day one.
They have them for your XF. Also, if you are looking for replacement D1S HID bulbs at a great price go to www.highperformancebulbs.com and order the Philips Ultinon 6000k's for $184.99 a pair.
You'll have to try an aftermarket route if you want HID.
Cheers,
ah man i really hate that
i know for audi you can easily swap out the headlight assembly.
quick question about aftermarket, is it simply plug and play or does it require some modding.

Same thing happend to me with a Volvo s60 t6 i just sold. You get so excited about the car, and you expect that comes as a standard....
Why don't you take the issue to the dealer, there will always be a change for a good deal before losing a good dissapointed client.....

+1 In addition, color temps over 5000k are too blue to enable you to see well at night. They actually provide LESS usable light than 4300k, which are about optimum.
On BMW you could do a conversion but you needed to purchase the entire headlight assembly plus reflash the ECU. It is a HUGE and costly conversion that I would imagine be the same on a Jaguar.
You could go for the other route which is simply purchasing a HID bulk/harness/balast kit which replaces the type of bulb you currently use. Takes some simple wiring to get the light working. The downside for this route is the projector won't be optimized for the HID bulb which means the light and lines won't be clean.
Your final option is look for a shop to retrofit just the projector and bulb for you, but that would be costly as well.

Need some help.
So i've been looking and asking around and it seems impossible to have any OEM xenon lights installed because of wiring.
So now, i guess i will have to go for aftermarket. I was wondering if any of you have successful accomplished this and if so please let me know where and how you did it.
