That's some hardcore traditional Jag handiwork applied to the new shifter. Nice work. Does the wood match your interior wood?

Yes it is walnut burl so as long as the XF has the same wood trim it would match up OK. I have these 2009+ style growlers that can be used for inlaying, which look rather nice.

Also, my appologies as I didn't mean to hijack the thread, just though you guys might want to see these "toppers"

Do you sell these, and if so, how much?

Part came, but catching hell trying to get off the rotary switch. Tried razors but they keep braking as they are not strong enough to lift the original topper. Any help is well appreciated.

Thanks

I used a tiny flat head screwdriver, the eye glass type I think it was, to pry off that glued-on top piece.

Can you make them in matching fineline oak that is one of the newer Jag wood types?

What year your XF? And was it something that took awhile?

Did you use a hammer also or just the the flat head?

Finally got it off. But your small flat head suggestion put me in the right direction. I used one of my wife's sharp and extremely durable cooking knife, lol. A few taps with the hammer got it underneath and deep enough just a bit to pry it.

Now I just need to find a screw driver for this funny looking screw.

I was able to get the top off with a rug cutter, although the blade is destroyed. How did you make out with the screw? I'm leaving the top off until my kit comes.

The screw was easiest part. I went to sears and got a Torx Screwdriver(T-20 is the specific one you need for a few bucks). And unscrewed right in the Sears parking lot with no problems and the new one was on in secure in 10 seconds. The hardest part by far is getting off the topper, which was a b*****.

Is it adhesive tape that makes getting the topper off so difficult or is it just a tightly fitting piece that needs to be pryed out?

Adhesive tape. It's just getting underneat it to pry that is a little annoying.

Regarding the Oak, yes quite possibly, but I would need a good photograph of your actual veneer to match it.

Another "tool" that could be used is the church key type thingy that painters use to pry off lids from paint cans. The end may need to be ground down slightly to fit, but it's worth a try..and they won't break...

Thanks

Did you get the Jag Growler or the Mina style? Is it a raised profile, metal or is it a decal?

Another option that would save prying off that top plate..
