Hi All, I'm posting this and will also do a search on the posts, but I thought I'd ask openly here also.
I put my baby away for the Winter (Eastern Canada, and don't want the salty roads) and owned for 2 years, with no maintenance so I was ready to spend some on maintenance. Decided to get the plastic crossover pipe and water pump handled. (Quoted, $800 for the scheduled maintenance, and $1400 for the crossover pipe and water pump which I'd suspect is normal/ok)
BACKGROUND
1. This work evolved in to a timing job, that's costly so I am spending a bit more than I planned. (I appproved, work underway $8,000)
2. They eliminated the $800 scheduled maintenance, because most of the items are handled in the timing job anyway. ($0, I like that)
3. They said the battery was dead and asked for approval. (I replaced it 14 months ago and under warrantly I reminded them so $0)
QUESTIONS
4. I asked them about the supercharger "coupler" and they quoted $2600, so I said "next year" after this 2024 spend and they called back to "we got one on Amazon for $48 and will pop it in for free.) - DID ANYONE EVER USE NON-JAGUAR S/C COUPLER PART AND ITS OK?
5. I watched a video, yeah yeah, random YouTube stuff, and a guy suggests replacing s/c oil. DOES ANYONE SUGGEST CHANGING S/C OIL (120,000 km) OR LEAVE IT ALONE AND AVOID THEM OPENING THIS UP?
6. They suggested 4 of the 8 injectors sHould be replaced while in there. I really want to limit this year's spend (I'm at about $10,000 and not cheap but I'm happy with what I am getting done this year, so planning injectors for 2025. (Quoted, $550 each, dealer suggest 4 should get done) DOES ANYONE HAVE AN AFTERMARKET SOURCE, OR ARE THE $550 EACH THE WAY TO GO?
If there's a cheaper option, like was the case on the s/c coupler, I'd buy them in preparation.
Whew... sorry that's a lot of numbers and I tried to keep organized... and now that I typed it all out, I realize that I could have skipped the background and asked the last 4 questions.
All $$$ are Canadian so probably
1.42 times equivalent to US Dollars
1.80 times equivalent to Pounds

4. The solid coupler causes problems later. There is a oil filled nylon one for $15 but I don't know if that is enough dampening to stop the issues. Seems better.
5. Fluid breaks down with heat and load and time. Yes good idea.
6. Here is the BOSCH injector probably the same one for $83ea new. Get all 8 changed. A failed injector will brick your motor. You might want to replace your fuel filter underneath the passenger rear seat with the money we just saved you.
7. Get the metal coolant pipes instead of the plastic OEM ones if you haven't already. You don't want to do this job again.
8. Replace the plastic bleeder screw on the top left of the motor with a brass one, and there are two plastic petcocks under the radiator and motor shown below that you will want a brass petcock to keep the coolant in your motor. I had a bleeder screw fail thankfully I caught it before I went out of my neighborhood, and it stranded the car. The head snapped off leaving the shaft inside the line leaking fluid on the side of the motor. I couldn't get it out with any method it turned to mush. I had to hammer a flatblade screwdriver lightly into the plastic and carefully back it out.
Always check the injectors for counterfeits. So common now too.
Those listed on EBay only show one side of the injector. Get them to post the picture from the other side showing all the printing. We know several things to look for after you post the picture.
I also got caught on that and spent a miserable two weeks figuring it out.
