I've been out of racing for years now but, according to my past knowledge, if you participated in a supervised "school" event on the tracks you were covered by most insurance policies. If, however, you were participating in a "non-school" or competitive event, no coverage will be provided.

So, check with your event organizers and check with your insurance company. Best to be prepared. After crashing two expensive cars in competitive events, with no insurance payoff, I would tend to advise against tracking street cars. Full race cars are often cheaper to buy, much cheaper to fix and faster than most street cars. If you crash a Jag on a track its resale value will also collapse.

I would NOT call your auto insurance company and ask them that....talk about a red flag....also, I cannot fathom that they would cover track damage. There are special insurance companies that will insure you for the day.
