Default Jag Performance Driving Academy - Austin TX or Las Vegas ????

I got a flyer for the Jaguar Performance Driving Academy and had some questions that I hope some members could provide input on.

1. Is it a memorable experience? I have attended other driving schools like Bob Bondurant School of Performance Driving and was wondering how it fairs to these type of schools.

2. Is one location better than another? I live in Los Angeles so flying to Vegas is painless and cheap. But what are the track venues like - would the Austin venue be better?

Thanks!

Andrew

It is a great experience - I haven't done anything like it before though, so I can't really say how it compares. The Pro drivers said that it was the best day offered by any manufacturer that they worked with (but they might always say that!). It really helped me understand my XFR and get more out of driving it.

As for location - a flight is a flight. Austin is lovely, new track, somewhere different. I would choose that. Cost of flight is pretty much all you will have to pay, so it is great value for money.

Default Jaguar performance driving experience

How do you get a flyer for Jaguar driving experience? What are the cost for the one day school? Do you have to ask Jaguar Dealer for an invitation?

Thanks! I'm actually trying to thin out the herd and the 928 is at a classic car dealer for sale. I keep trying to get through to the academy so I can get a PIN number. Very annoying. I don't want to run out of time! Andrew

When you get through to them, they only need the VIN - I didn't need a PIN number from my dealer. They are a good bunch of guys but it is managed by them rather than Jag (as far as I can tell) so they are probably all off on Xmas hols, in which case you don't need to worry about missing out. If you have left your number, they will call you back ASAP, in my experience.

Any link to your 928 for sale? A few months back I would have been hugely interested, but I am moving to Australia soon so am selling up too... was thinking of looking for a 928 out there actually.

Now that IS annoying. It looks beautiful. I really would be all over that if I wasn't moving. Rare to see a manual too. Astonishing value for money. Damn!
