Default Just purchased a new 2012 XF....

It's white base XF with barley interior and the vision package. I just have to wait for it to get here on Monday. They are shipping it from another dealer.

I really liked the 2012, especially the headlights and the touch screen user interface, but could not justify the price delta especially if I don't keep the car too long.

Coming from a 2001 BMW 540 this is a much bigger car. I'm sure I will get use to it. I love the interior and it is very unique.

Now that I am an owner I will have to spend some more time on the boards and do some reading to try and pass the time until the car comes


UPDATE: I RATIONALIZED THE PRICE DELTA IN MY HEAD AND WENT FOR WHAT I REALLY WANTED.... THE 2012. CASHMERE with TAN interior.

i just traded my cls500 for the 2011 xf limited edition sport. love it
you will realy like it going from a 5 series

I traded from a 2007 BMW 530i. You will love this car. The interior is so much more inviting and the approx.95 bhp upgrade from your 2001 BMW 540i (I had a 2002 540i and I think they had 290 bhp) will invigorate you. Enjoy.

Ummm.... After I slept on it overnight, I had second thoughts. I went back this morning and told them I really wanted the 2012. Boy did I feel pretty stupid.

Anyways, the dealership was great and I wrote them a big check for the delta and my car will be prepped and ready on Monday.

Now if I can only change the name of this thread to I just bought a 2012 ...

You will not regret getting the 2012! Have had mine about 10 days and it's amazing how many people comment and want to see this car. While BMW's are tremendous vehicles and a great brand they seem almost a commodity these days. A 5-series just doesn't turn heads like the XF. I especially love the new front-end, the LED's give it a very aggressive look. The HD-based navigation is nice and there is little to no latency as some commented earlier. The only downside is 2011 had a better warranty covering wear and tear items and a 5 year vs. a 4 year.

Have fun with it and enjoy those first exhilerating miles as you pick it up today.

I picked my car up today and drove it around tonight. The lights at night time both inside and out are great. I purchased the first 2012 in Austin. I can't wait to see more of them on the road. This car must look incredible when it is approaching in your rear view mirror at night. The exhaust note is not too loud and down shifting sounds awesome when it blips the throttle. I changed from a white 2011 XF to a 2012 cashmere XF. I'm sure the white would have looked good, but I really like Silver/Gray tone cars. All my other cars are Silver/Gray, so this one fits in perfect.

I don't think there is a better looking sedan out there. Not to mention, the interior is simply unique and very luxurious.

Bottom line...I love this car!!

Congrats! I too recently purchased a 2012 XF Portfolio.

It truly is a beautiful car and I don't doubt seeing more on the road soon. That's why I got one with the Sport pack to differentiate my ride hehe. The body kit gives the car an even more aggressive look and the 19" Aquila is the best rim style Jaguar has for the XF in my opinion.

Now, I'm looking to tint my car with an very light shade to retain the car's allure and to showcase the sexy interior.

As you may have read, I initially purchased a 2011 and before delivery switched to a 2012. I think I had a real good price on the 2011, but didn't want the car. On the 2012 I did not get that good of a deal. Only a couple thousand off or so. I was thankful that they accommodated the change of cars for me.

I've had my 2012 for almost 2 weeks now and love it. I was torn between the 2011 and the 2012 but the front fascia sold me. Love seeing the LEDs in the the reflection of the cars in front of me.

I just recently got the 2011 XF. The 2012 was just out of my budget.

I wonder if they will be able to have parts to make the 2011 lights like the 2012? Or is this wishful thinking?
