I’m wondering if anyone can advise. I have a 2010 jag XF and have a problem with my key I have bought a new shell from eBay as I broke my previous. The key when put together works once then stops working causing me to unlock the car with the metal key and then plug my key in the slot which does work.

any advice on if it can be reprogrammed I have changed the battery, I have the battery around he correct way, I’ve checked the prongs that meet the battery and they are all facing upwards. So I am at a loss, intermittently working, but very very very rarely.

Getting very frustrated with all the niggles on this car.

Hi thank you, I went to the dealer who looked at it when I had my MOT and said I had put the battery the wrong way round, they said they'd turned it around and it was working, it worked for the rest of the day then stopped the next morning. I've since changed the battery but I think your right I need to order a genuine housing as even though it looks exactly the same it was cheap so was probably not genuine Jag.
