After a long involved thread about known XF issues I think it would help to post them all in one place so that anyone who wanted might be able to find some quick answers. If you can post u a link to the thread that identifies the issues and fixes it as well. Feel free to add a comment here as well like " look here as well" or this helped but I needed this in=fo as well" Also feel free to add search terms since some things are not under obvious terms and not jsut search is your frined.

Let's see if this gets legs I will go first

 

Leaking sunroof. A couple of things

1. There are 4 nuts that come loose that hold the sunroof up against the roof of the car and may wiggle loose. You can get at them by pulling the entire headliner down but I was able to get in there with a socket wrench just pulling the headliner down enough to sift my hand in the space with the ratchet. It was easy to get the liner in the front of the sunroof to pull down where the motor is so I tired that first. There are clips there that just unsnap. I broke one but its a stiff liner and does not effect noise or looks in my car.

Do the front first, that may be all you need to do. That's all I did and mine is fine now. Yes they were loose. Tightened them up ( do not over tighten they look easy to strip. Just a few turns till they get hard and there ya go . Tested with a hose all good, fine after a soaking rain.

2. Clogged drains. These are in all 4 corners h back and run aling the a and b-pillar to the ground. Can be cleared from below by blasting air or with a wire from the top.

 

• Myriad of dashboard display electronic panic attacks just due to battery condition
• High risk of catastrophic engine failure resulting from coolant leak, if car is not shut down immediately(also no temp gauge)
• Coolant leaks occuring on any given component, at any mileage, rubber and plastic, some under supercharger or near firewall requiring extensive tear-down
• Water pump failures, repeatedly
• Coolant overflow tank cracks/sensor fails
• Vacuum lines leaking(P0171/P0174)
• Transmission cooler line leaks
• Transmission mechatronic sleeve leaks
• Transmission sealed for life(=duration of warranty)
• Transmission mount bushing
• Control arm bushings(suspension clunking)
• Engine mounts
• Timing chain tensioners rattles
• Supercharger coupler rattles
• Surging RPM at idle or at speed
• Misfires/restricted performance
• Engine failures(oil starvation)
• TPMS errors
• Steering wobbles
• Brakes pulsing/pulling
• Brakes low speed "grunch"
• Lug nuts not solid/stripping from chrome caps
• Frequent bent wheels(low profile tires on soft spec aluminum alloy)
• Windshield washer fluid leak/seepage killing passenger fuse box
• Dashboard leather separation
• Flickering dome lights
• Delaminating windshields
• Sliding sunshield and headliner fabric separation
• Sunroof wind noise
• Bluetooth poor connectivity
• Keyfob failures
• Gear selector stuck failures
• Fuel door failures
• Door lock actuator failures
• Global close, back up cam, license plate lights cut out(trunk wiring loom)
• Steering wheel buttons fail/airbag light(clock spring)
• Buzzing doors/trim from speakers
• Front seat frame squeaking
• Seat cooler piping breaking apart and ineffective
• General interior squeaks and rattles, especially around sunroof
• Tire scrub during parking maneuvers
