Light smoke from engine bay
Fellow Jaguar owners, I am a new Jaguar owner and new to the page. Looking for suggestions. Tonight I was out cruising and dig racing with a group. I have the 5.0L V8 N/A. After 1.5hrs of going pretty hard, I stopped a light and noticed some smoking in the front that my headlamps illuminated. No warnings indicated on the dash. I pulled over, popped the hood, flashed my light and no smoke however I smelt coolant. I noticed some liquid on the skid plate, but no current/fresh leaks. Coolant level was down a tad, but was ok. Any ideas on what the smoke was from? I've driven it hard before and never an issue like this. Should I run my heater when I race to eliminate air pockets? Was it an air pocket that worked itself out on idle?
Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated! Thanks folks.

Your coolant level is going to be key, I'd keep an eye on it to see if the level drops much after it sits over night, a big drop might mean you have a leak. But honestly that haze or smoke you saw was probably from your brakes. Going hard means stopping hard.
Smelling coolant does not necessarily mean you have a leak.

Today I pulled into the shop. I yanked the belly pan out to reveal if any leaks had occurred. There was some coolant there. And my coolant level was 2 inches below the min level line of the reservoir. The cap is holding pressure, the hoses/lines are just fine. There was burnt coolant under the oil pan, but no trace of where it came from! I started the engine, let it idle with the pressure cap off and heater full blast as it was bubbling on idle. I filled it up to min level to allow expansion when hot. The bubbling stopped. There is still a smell of coolant in the front of the engine block.
The smoke described beveled from the hood when I popped the hood that night, I doubt it was the brakes. I would of smelt brakes rather than coolant. This has completely floored me, almost like trying to remember a celebrities name from a certain movie and you should know it lol.
I will check the reservoir level in the morning and see if it is the same. Fingers are crossed
