Really appreciate the offer, thanks!! I was just looking at their handheld and they claim that once it’s used it locks to the vin#. At least now I have someone to go to, thanks!
Are you happy with the tune from them? They claim to increase the BHP from 509 to only 536 on the site. Seems rather low.
Did they actually dyno the car or just a flash after the base upload?

Right, I am currently talking things over with them. I just don’t know how to feel about a flash tune vs a true dyno tune. It feels rather artificial. Or is it just how it is these days?

Very rarely will a dyno tune give you a better result than a modern flash tune on these engines, and good tuners like VAP have spent a lot of time, effort and R&D getting their flash tunes "right". VAP are also happy to talk to you about minor tweaks to one of their flash tunes to create a custom tune for you.
One of the advantages of a VAP tune is you can flash it back to stock any time you like in the comfort of your own garage, which is not something you can do with a dyno tune.
From a very happy VAP customer!

its how it is to a point now.
its called a canned tune . but if all is the same on the car the tune originated (most definitely dyno'd) as the mods on your car, there will be very little difference in dyno results . and little need to re dyno the same tune on practically the same car .
there is a big difference between a chip tune (irreversible) and a flash tune .
again talk to Cambo . he has tuned the quickest recorded 1/4 mile 4.2 xkr and the quickest 5.0 xkr in the WORLD.

There is a certain 5.0L Range Rover Sport here in Sydney that just walks away from my XKR... scary fast... it's a Bosch car.

I cannot do a remote tune on the Bosch PCM, there are several Bosch cars here in Sydney that we have put tunes in, but doing it on the other side of the world, it's a problem...

2012 XF vs. 2012XFR for parts swap
New to the forum but a great asset
I currently own a 2012 XF and damage my front end. I found a 2012 XFR hood and want to swap. Does anyone have thoughts about using the XFR parts on a XF model? I am think of getting more XFR parts to help my XF??
Also any suggestions to bring my XF up to max speed and driving control?
Thank You
Doug
