Is this a brand-new car ?

Not a lot to check nowadays on modern cars, not even the tyre pressures with these super-whizzo tyre pressure checkers doing it for you ! In winter I try to keep the windscreen wash bottle reasonably topped-up, although you can't see how much is in there, it is a matter of judging the moment has arrived. Make sure the car is clean and the car "looks" OK. In this regard, I detected a tyre flat before it actually went totally flat, just by glancing round the car.

I normally only check oil and coolant before a long(ish) journey.

Thank you very much, Fraser.
I also received feedback from the car dealer. I can use the regular diesel (not the premium diesel). Even though the manual recommends against automatic car washes, I was told it is ok to have the car cleaned in an auto-wash. And if the car does not show any 'warning lights', to not do anything. But I will take your advice and check the engine oil and coolant before big trips. And I still have to install the InControl app.
Thank you again.

Welcome to the forum HM123,

As Fraser says, there isn't too much you can do nowadays.

I still check oil level, coolant level and tyre pressures weekly; screenwash and brake fluid level monthly. It's more out of the habit of many years than necessity.

If you have a 'skinny' spare wheel, these do lose pressure. Every one that I've had on my last five Jaguars has lost around 5 psi in a month. Still better than the compressor and sealant kit on my current XK.

Check coolant levels regularly. This seems to be a problem on XF's. But as for the rest, no much goes wrong with these cars. They are pretty reliable. That's been my personal experience over 4 1/2 years of ownership.

Get the oil changed often, much more often than any other car.
