For mechanics, computer & GSM (start button) problem, picture.
Good morning, Jag people!
I bought dead 13 XF and dealer mechanic, who diagnosed it, told me and wrote some strange contradicting things:
Central and auxilary BCMs were installed from different car and have different VINs, as a result preventing engine start.
Also GSM module (starting button) is dead. And possibly bad PCM
Based on that info, 4 things prevent engine from starting: bad GSM, PCM and 2 BCMs with different programmed VINs.
BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He also said, he could start engine after installing known good GSM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My question is:
How could he start engine by replacing GSM if car had bad PCM and 2 BCMs with wrong VINs?????????????????
I am attaching a paper from the mechanic. Vertical line separates 2 columns.
