Default 2015 XF - 2 key fobs, only one with emergency key blade

New owner here, loving this car. Still getting to know the in's and outs.

While checking the key FOB's only one has the emergency key blade. When I inquired to the dealer he told me that is standard procedure. Car is delivered with 2 key fobs but only one has the emergency key blade. Does not make sense to me, every other car with remote entry / start that I have had, all fobs have the emergency key.

Wanted to check with other XF owners that purchased from a dealer, this right or am I getting a bunch of dealer BS?

Thanks!

This seems like dealer BS, both of my remotes have the emergency key.

Yep, BS, both of my XFs came with two blades.
I think you can get a blank blade on eBay for not many $, then just take it and your existing blade to a key cutting shop/booth and get it cut.

two blades here too. Unless other 15 owners chime in to say otherwise, I'd also say it's BS on the dealers part.

It would be very strange to have it only in one key. If you happened to drive with the fob without a blade and got stuck, it wouldn't be that helpful to know you have a blade that can manually open the back - but it's at home...

They lost and replaced a fob, you get 2 fobs with 2 keys from the factory.

Thanks for all the feedback, just as I suspected. Ordered a blank from e@@@, should be able to find someone local to cut it from the one I have.

Most Ford dealers have the special cutter for those XF keys. I paid 5 bucks to have two blanks I bought on e-bay for 5 bucks @ ($ 10.00 for both) making my investment $ 7.50 @ for what Jag dealer asks $ 230.00 @ for.
