I have just changed the rear passenger light assembly on my 2014 Jaguar xf. It was quite straight forward. Starting the car to check lights ok i noticed the touch screen has the audio now greyed out and obvious no radio.
playing. The only electrical connection was to disconnect the old unit and connect it to the new unit. Has anyone got any suggestions to remedy this.
The SAT NAV also displays a message of initialising.

I have also noticed the display is showing low battery so I guess this has something to do with it.
The car starts up fine.

That sounds strange. What was the issues with the old interiour light? Does the new light work?
Did you check the fuses F4 and F36 (audio system) and F14 and F20 (battery controller) in the rear fuse box? Maybe your fuses are different, check the owners manual.

Hi Chris Thanks for your reply.
I've had the battery on charge and the battery charger indicated charged.
Battery charger was kicking out 14.3v when I disconnected it. Started the car up and it gave the message low battery and still audio greyed out.
Checked battery voltage(large battery) and it read 12.5v so I suspect the battery needs changing but its strange that the car starts oK.
I will now get the manual and check the fuses you indicated.
Many thanks

12.5V may be ok. These cars have a battery management system which can lower the charge.
Did you connect the charger directly to the battery terminals? If yes, thats probably why the low battery message pops up. You must connect the negative probe of your charger to the chassis ground point, not to the battery. Otherwise the battery controller will get confused.

Thanks Chris I will try that.
WRT the fuses I can only marry up the F4 fuse in the handbook which is in the luggage compartment according to my handbook which is 40 A Orange.(Audio system Amplifier)
The cover on the luggage compartment does not have the layout of the fuses . According to the handbook there is no fuse 36 .
F14 is a 20A yellow for the dual Battery module according to the handbook.(luggage compartment fuse box)
F20 is a 5A Tan for a Gateway module according to the handbook.(luggage compartment fuse box)
