Adding to it as screen goes off affects sat nav parking sensors etc

Sounds like classic poorly battery symptoms, if the battery is the original it is way overdue for replacement.

Default my 09 xf was doing the samething

I left my sunroof open and it rained, now the screen constantly restarts and never fully boots up.I removed drivers side seat and pulled up the carpet enough to access Bluetooth module and the usb audio module. I can't tell which one or if both need replaced but the metal usb audio module may be my issue as nothing works using the port but the cigarette lighter port works when connecting a car charger. Also under my passenger side (there was alot of water soaked it the foam padding under the carpet) the tpms module does not work as its burnt from water damage.

Are you plugging anything into the head unit through the center console outlets like a phone or audio device?

Sounds like it could be anything from faulty modules to loose wiring. I'd suspect the latter. The MOST system works with fiber optics. A crack in the cables would definitely upset the system. Don't know why that would form on it's own, but it's a guess. Also could be a bad ground or anything similar.

Does the music stop at the same time? Do other modules seem to respond normally, like you can change the fan speed etc..? If you're playing an audio CD does it stop? Or is it just the screen and the parking sensors that go down?
