The dynamic mode sharpens the throttle response so you get a more head snapping off the line effect. Will cause you to lose a few MPG in the city.

The DSC mode is in three steps.

Fully on - normal mode, tire spin is almost not able to get. The stability mode is very active and will not let the car slide.

Hit button for a sec or two and it lights the dash light. It allows a very little bit of wheel spin.

Hold button down for 13 seconds and the dash light comes on and the center info system shows the DSC is fully off - smokes the tires, will not stop car from fish tailing.

Neither buttons give you more power, just removes the drivers aids to let you use gas faster and wear rear tires faster.

What year/model is your XF?

If you have '10 +SC variant, then Dynamic mode will enable CATS system - stiffer suspension.

In the NA car, the transmission will shift quicker and will make the throttle much more sensitive. No influence on the suspension

If the '10 is thevsame as the '11, you should feel the dynamic mode difference immediately, particularly if the road surface is uneven. If on smooth roads you may not feel it, however, I know the difference with mine instantly om my '11 SC. I don't like the feel of the car without it. Have you tried driving with and without on uneven road surfaces?

What I said would only apply to the NA car.

the SC car has the adjustable suspension as Exec mentioned aboved.

Not sure, I would have it checked out. The change with dynamic is noticeable.

I too notice the difference in traction and gear behavior but not so much in the suspension. I've wondered myself if that part is working or effective.

supposedly it tightens the springs for cornering but i measured from the tire to wheel well after turning it on and off of a flat surface and there was no difference. im definitely gonna look into it more.
