Default Nav: "Traffic Restrictions May Apply" Can't Turn This Off

When I'm on a highway that has an HOV (high occupancy vehicle) lane (a/k/a car pool lane), even though I've turned off the button for "Notify Traffic Restriction" under nav User Settings (so that it shows a dark blue button next to the selection), the voice keeps telling me "Traffic Restrictions May Apply." I tried it the other way, so that the button turns light blue, and still the same result. I don't have the Route Preferences set to avoid major highways. Anyone else have this issue?

I spoke to the service manager at the dealership and he hadn't encountered this before. Before they start going through a trial-and-error process of trying to figure this out, I'd like to find out if there's a known solution.

Thanks.

That's confusing..

Is the problem that the car senses that there's no passenger while your driving in the HOV lane?

Truth be told, that wouldn't be that farfetched, all the Navi would need would be a simple signal from the passenger seat occupancy sensor.

(A) I had a passenger each time it happened;

(B) The nav isn't that precise as to be able to tell whether you're in the HOV lane or just near it; and

(C) You're giving Jaguar way too much credit. Why they even give you the option of being reminded that there are traffic restrictions is beyond me. I mean, you have to be able to see to drive, so you'd know from all the HOV lane signs about the restrictions anyway, so what's the point of the notification?

Someone on the other XF forum posted another reply a few weeks ago and said that Jaguar had sent his dealership (in California) a 2010 updated navigation DVD that fixed the problem. I asked my dealer's service department about the update DVD this week and he said he hadn't gotten it yet. Hopefully, all the dealerships will be getting the updated DVDs soon.

Default Nav -- "Traffic Restrictions May Apply" Issue Solved

I got the 2009-2010 nav disc set (Jaguar part no. 6W83-10E898-BF) and just had a chance to test it on a highway with an HOV lane that used to cause the "traffic restrictions may apply" notification that could not be turned off. The new disc solved the problem (finally). Note that you need not do anything other than swap discs. After the new disc is installed, there is no notification about a firmware update or anything else. The dealer apparently does something to the new disc before handing it over. My wife did the swap (and did not go there in the Jaguar), but she said the service advisor did something with the disc set that took about 10 minutes on the computer.
