Default Need help with intake cleaning

Can someone tell me exactly where I need to spray a crc gdi intake turbo aerosol cleaner into this weekend. I have a 09 xf sc. Do I spray into the air box tubes or directly into the throttle body? Any details would be greatly appreciated. My car has 56,000 miles on it and I just installed the Paramount performance super sport exhaust this week and I want to clean out any and all carbon and deposits. Thanks

The 09 4.2 V8 does not have the same issues that the 5.0 V8s do. The 4.2 is a conventional injected motor so the fuel and all the added detergents wash the intake runners and top of the valves.

The 5.0 V8 is a direct injected design and does not wash the intake tract.

A high quality fuel additive should work pretty well.

I would stay way from putting anything through the mass air meter.

Sounds interesting, I might give this stuff a go, see here: CRC Intake Valve Cleaner.
Of course what they say on that page might just be marketing hype but probably nothing to lose by giving it a try.

The 4.2 is NOT GDI. Leave it be and it'll be reliable.

If you want to clean the MAF, remove it first.
