And I can't get out of the driver seat! That said I'm still a little concerned about quality and resale...but I can worry about that later! I came from an 07 STS. I do have what I think is a valve click though...it just came from being CPO, so I'm not sure. Can anyone else tell me how their engines sound? Does it click?

 

Mine has what sounds like a valve tick or small exhaust leak at idle. Notice it more when there is something next to me to reflect the sound. But I've heard that the direct injection makes a noise like that and I've had it at the dealer a bunch of times and never had them say it was out of the ordinary. Anyone else have any thoughts?

 

The idle on the SC 5.0 and I assume the 5.0 NA is kinda diesel like. Clattery and noisy in my experience. Notice it most at drive throughs etc. Its odd because the noise out the other end is better than anything else on the road. :-)

 

Yeah there is a little chatter from my XFR. That has been the case on the last few direct injected vehicles I have owned....as I understand it the injectors are just a bit noisier.
