Default New Here - Hoping to join your club soon and looking for "gotchas"

I've driven boring cars most of my life, and decided I needed a bit more style this go around. And since my current car is over 182k miles and I just saw the first evidence of rust bubbling up under the paint; I think now is the time.

I love the looks and driving experience of the Jaguar XF and intend to buy a used one. I can't find what I want locally, but found several in the other cities which I frequent. In fact, tomorrow I'll be in Chicago and found several online to go see. Specifically, I intend to purchase a 2013 or 2014 XF 3.0SC AWD with less than 45k miles.

I am seeking any tips from this community that you may offer as I look at candidates? Any chronic issues to look out for? I've been reading the forums and didn't see any stand-out problems with this year and motor (although I understand the AWD configuration is a bit odd).

Thank you, and I hope to be posting some pics of a great XF soon...

Welcome. Just subscribing to the thread in case somebody posts something new I hadn't already read about. I had kinda decided that if I were going to upgrade, that I'd go for a 2012 Portfolio, first year of the facelift, but last year available non-supercharged 5.0L. I've read minor issues with that engine, but I don't think apply to the 3.0.

I just purchased a 2014 xf sc 3.0 awd a couple weeks ago. The water pump had to be replaced along with a host of hoses and related parts. The water pump are apparently known issues and they go out often. I was a bit weary but the dealer replaced everything at no cost to me. I am very happy with my purchase now and this forum provided valuable information as to what I was doing should be considered a safe purchase. Hope this helps!

It was a long day and I looked at 7-ish XF's until finding the ONE!

I purchased my first Jaguar tonight and pick it up in the morning! It's a 2014 XF 3.0 SC AWD in Stratus Gray Metallic with 33k miles and perfect condition. Cant wait to pick it up tomorrow!

Well that didn't take long. I've been looking a couple of months but I've narrowed down what I want pretty specifically.
