Default New Shift Paddles

Got these a while back and recently put them on. Attached them with only 3m body and trim tape. Seems to be holding well. I chose the black ones (bare aluminum and gunmetal are also available) because they were subtle and they don't distract me at all while driving. Feel much better than stock with a lot more weight and are easy to find. I can't access the link on the eBay mobile app but will post it if I can find it.

Yep, I have the same ones but in aluminium/silver.
Stuck them on with cheap double sided tape (not 3M), and they are now stuck so hard that I'm afraid I might break the stock paddles if I try to remove them without first removing the assemblies from the steering wheel. So no worries with them coming loose or falling off while driving!
As you say, much better paddle weight and feel now.

Do you have pictures of the silver ones installed? I am debating which color I would like to get.

Yep, here's one:

Not the greatest pic but it should give you an idea.

Hey Thor, they also have the gunmetal that's in between the other two.

Kyanite and Oz,
do your paddles have the little side screws like in the ebay listing or do you just rely on the 2-sided tape?

Yep, they have the screws (four for each paddle), but I was worried the screws would mark the sides of the OEM paddles (they are designed to bite into the edge of the paddle) and those marks would show if I decided to remove the extensions, so I went with double sided tape instead. The tape works a charm, very solid, the only real downside is that two of the little holes the screws go into are visible from the side. I have tossed up cutting the tips off four of the screws (two for each outside edge of the extensions) and screwing them in to fill these holes, but I haven't tried it yet, and anyway the holes are tiny and barely visible.
One tip if using tape - tape the edges of the extensions and not the centre.

Edit - just to clarify - the kit comes with eight screws, four for each extension, but I have not used any of them, just tape.

That CEL lights up and stays on every time I turn the ignition on, and had done from day one of ownership.
It goes away as soon as I start the engine.
I have a decent scan tool, an iCarsoft i930, and it has never picked up a code that would trigger a CEL.
I don't know why it lights up but I have never had a single problem with the car.

Yep, I have tried to do exactly that, but none of the different paints I have tried will "stick". It would need a much thicker and stickier paint than anything I have on hand.

Not my area of knowlwdge but could you prime it first then paint? Or sand it a bit to get a better adhesion?

I won't be doing anything like that but seems like there has to be a way.

I just tried, of all things, a black felt tip permanent marker pen.
It seems to have worked, time will tell if it stays looking good.
Three coats drawn on/in roughly, then the excess wiped off with the blending solution from my Chipex kit. Acetone would possibly work as well, but I didn't want to take the risk of the acetone permanently damaging the finish on the extensions.

I would think an enamel would work, like testors model hobby paint or nail polish

Just got these installed last week. I went with the Silver as I felt it complimented the interior best. They are really great. Now it's not such a PIA to reach to grab the tiny stock paddles when doing some more spirited driving. It really gives the steering wheel a more aggressive look too. Nice find guys!
