Default Open trunk with dead battery

Hi everyone,

My car is at the mechanics with a dead battery! Is there a way to open the trunk to charge the battery? Apparently the key won't work to open it?

Any help is great.

This is a different YM (X250). You have posted it on a X260 forum. Anyways,I hope this process help you open the trunk?

I've moved your question from X260 to X250 forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

Can you post how it was fixed so it will help others in the future with the same problem?

Hi Clubairth1, there is a video in this thread that I followed. It sorted it out. Let me know if you can see it.

Hi, again.

I don't know how to share the video, but this the link.

Please let me know if it works.

** EDIT Also you can use the skeleton key in your key fob and access the key hidden key hole (behind a small piece of paneling, the size of a silver dollar) on the trunk where you press the release to open trunk usually. Your skeleton key will open the trunk here. I tried to find a video but could not.
Please let me know if this helps.
Kind regards,
Kimberly

Yes I can see it now. Note that if you have an XJ it has no external key lock for the trunk like the XF does.

Instead you could just use the emergency key from your remote to pop open the trunk. The lock is hidden under a small piece of black plastic just next to the reverse camera,
