Default P1707 - please help

I recently purchased 2013 Xf. Love it but now shifter won’t come out. Pulled code, it’s showing P1707. I am reading lots of post and some says it’s shifter needs to be replaced, other saying some module in transmission. Does anyone has any experience with this? Thanks

hope this helps also check brake light switch

Jaguar Xf P1707 Possible Solution :

The crankshaft sensor signals the fuel injection computer or the ignition control when the cylinders are firing. This causes the ignition coil to provide a spark and the injector to inject fuel into each cylinder at the right time.If either sensor isn't working correctly, the car will run rough and the engine will be less efficient. In later car models, the car's computer can usually keep the vehicle running, but the engine warning light on the dashboard goes on to warn the driver.

P1707 OBD-II Diagnostic Powertrain (P) Trouble Code Description

P1707 engine trouble code is about Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical.

Reason For P1707 Code

The reason of P1707 OBD-II Engine Trouble Code is Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction.Parts or components should not be replaced with reference to only a P1707 DTC. The vehicle service manual should be consulted for more information on possible causes of the fault, along with required testing.

is there anyway to verify brake switch? Take light gets on, is that enough indication?

Other than scanner and ohm meter if it's working, I'd say count it out
