I've been itching to get my calipers painted on my 2015 XF Sport, they are so damn big and figured would look amazing with a fresh coat of paint and a nice Jaguar decal. Tackled the fronts over the weekend, took about 3 hours total. The prep is the most time consuming, few bottles of brake parts cleaner, wire brush, steel wool...but I love the way they turned out! They really pop against the black car.
Looks great! I did mine red with a decal logo on them maybe 5-6 years ago and they still look great. I'm amazed how well spray paint has held on!
Thanks! Brake calipers don't take the abuse that most people think, they don't get overly hot (unless you're tracking your car), and don't see many more elements than the rest of your car from rain, snow, etc... Hoping mine last a few years like yours have!
I chose the silver to match the theme of the gray wheels and my Hyperdipped Anthracite gray emblems. I did 4 coats of the red engine enamel, applied the decals, then did 4 coats of engine enamel clear coat to protect the decals.
