Default Pleasantly Surprised

Took a trip down to visit my sister, some 750 miles away and on the first tank which I had already been driving on I averaged 25.6mpg, then on the next leg I averaged 31.41mpg(computer said 31.3) not bad for the 3.0 AWD that weighs over two tons.

My 2010 V8 only gets 22-23mpg. I guess i am going to have to stop driving in S mode with DSC enabled and racing. I am now trying winter mode and old man driving style.

It's great isn't it? My 14' AWD is doing the same thing. It's amazing they can get this kind of gas mileage from them.

It's awesome, I really didn't know what to expect since I rarely drive those distances, I'm used to averaging 19-21mpg. But to get 20% over the rating is pretty good in my book.

I can get around 24 mpg on the freeway, if it's flat, and I don't go much over 80 mph. I made a trip of about 275 miles which included crossing The Grapevine which is a little more than 4000 feet an still averaged over 22 mpg and much of that was between 80 and 90 mph and included some heavy throttle to pass those who wouldn't leave the left lane. So not disappointed with my mileage on trips.

In town is another matter...16 or so is pretty common but I live in a hilly area which doesn't help me at all. If I really try I can get to almost 19 mpg in town, but then I'm driving it like a prius ;-)

I must have a lead foot. I get 11-12mpg on my XFR. Granted, most of that is city driving. I just can't get enough of the V8 rumble when you accelerate from a stop, but i'm certainly paying for it in my gas bill.

Haha well if I really flog this car I can get some pretty dismal fuel economy. But this thing apparently loves cruising.

I think my tune has given me a little better mileage as well, 1-2 mpg in both city and highway. Plus with the additional torque, I don't have to push the pedal as much to get the desired result.

I think if I had your car I could pretty much call any gas station my second home.
