Prefacelift stereo upgrade available, Tesla style.
That's bad luck after all the effort he put in.
Carlos is there no point in doing the Tesla model screen? Has that route been scrapped?
Until they can source a trim that matches the car, it's a no for me at least.
After a long wait i finally got the unit but it's far from working properly.
1) Ac vents don't close when you turn off the ac.
2) Heated seats power is very poor , with the OEM system i could feel the seats very hot within seconds.
3) Cooled seats also have poor power can't even feel them and there's a bug in the menu, when you press the left side it displays the right side and vice versa.
4) There's is no heated steering button, only an option to activate it in the car settings, it stays on all the time heating the steering constantly.
5) There is no way of setting the clock on the instrument cluster, i had to disconnect the battery and now i cannot adjust the correct time.
6) There are some bugs in the car info menu when pressing air circulation sensitivity the auto sensitivity moves.
7) It drained my battery by sitting overnight, i got all sorts of errors messages on the dash, luckly i was able to jump start and fix it, but this can go awfully wrong there are horror stories about this.
For now I'm going to stick back the old system it's not worth the risk, the battery draining can literally destroy your car.
Untill they can update the software and get rid of all the bugs, it's not worth it.

Thanks for being the guinea pig, @Carlos Saez - sad to hear of all the issues. Sounds like many of those are showstoppers - especially climate seat performance and steering wheel button.
I forgot to mention that the volume knob works inverted, when you turn up the volume it actually goes down and vice versa.
To sort the battery drain i would need to cut the yellow wire that is constant and bridge it to the acc red wire, i would get reboot on every start.
I'll keep you guys updated as my intention was a large scale import to distribute the unit in my country, they know they are loosing a good deal so they are on solving all these issues.
A software update is the only way to solve this.

No battery drain here.
Seat heating works fine. It takes a bit long, but I don't think it takes longer than with the OEM radio. How should that work? The radio weakens the power or what? If there is power, the seat heats. If there is no power, it doesn't. There is no possible way the radio could control how fast or slow the seat is heated up.
The same with the Ventilation.
As shown in my video where I test pretty much everything, you can see that the buttons for seat cooling are switched, that's right, but other than that everything works on my end.
The air vents open and close just fine when you set them to auto in the car settings.
You need to set your car type right in the device settings. My video shows how you do that as well.
The air flow is regulated fine after that.
The dashboard clock can not be set, that's right. At least I didn't find a way yet, but I am looking.
I wrote to the seller asking if there is an OS update available or planned.
These chinese guys mostly have updates on request as some Google Drive downloads.
Just because there are a few bugs, it doesn't mean that it's crap.
Actually I am surprised that it works so well.

I got the replacement screen, but I didn't install it yet, because it's so cold out there and I am not that fancy to go out and start taking off the dashboard.
I will do it as soon as the weather gets better. Hopefully this weekend.

Don't really know if there's a difference in our cars, i assume the OEM unit provides the exact voltage in every level of heating, this unit provides probably less. In my car the heating and cooling difference is very noticeable.
In your videos, i cannot see the ac vents close at anytime, in fact i left a comment asking about that exact same issue as it seemed strange to me, i got them to work by switching to 2013 model in the factory settings, but then the physical buttons stopped working.
I also forgot too mention that there's no beeping sound, when you press to activate the parking sensors in the over head console, there's only beeping sounds when in reverse.
It would be great if you could install your unit and, check everything i pointed out, so we can compare, as you broke your screen very early i believe you haven't had the chance to properly test it.
I'm not saying it's a complete crap, but maybe your quality standards are different than mine, i have been importing electronic equipment from China for over 15 years. To me that's not a finished product it's full of bug's.
And not acceptable by any means.
I of course installed my head unit. I even made a video, how I test all the features. I also told you that the vents work after you set it to AUTO.
But here is a new video, so you have no doubt.

For the volume i was referring to the knob not the steering wheel volume control, the hard buttons below the radio that one works inverted.
Also please check the car info menu, press the "Air circulation sensitivity" button it does nothing instead it changes the settings on the "auto sensitivity" which is further down.
Regarding heating i will check my fueses maybe they got blown after all the fiddle.
About battery draining i left the battery disconnected overnight, I'll do a leak test at the fuses to make sure it wasn't just low and got drained by all the testing. Funny thing is that i started the car and let it run for a while before going to bed to make sure the battery wouldn't die.
It wasn't completely flat i tested it with a multimeter had 11.3 v, low enough to have all the issues i had, but not flat.
Do you use your car everyday?, I don't, mine has been sitting for weeks, i start it every week or so to keep things active. But i never had an issue with the battery with the original system, i had the car sitting over 3 weeks last time, and would start right away.
I read in other forums about this battery drain issue with chinese android radios, it's well documented there's a vw forum, they have the same canbus box that we get for our cars, there are also many youtube videos about this, so it's a known problem. Yesterday i got instructions from the chinese factory, they told me to cut the red acc wire at the unit and attach it to the acc wire at the car OEM connector, so apparently they are aware of this issue.
It's worth doing it as precaution, not good to get stranded, with flat battery, I'll have to buy a jump starter now, for peace of mind.

From my experience dealing with chinese sellers, they omit and lie a lot just to get the sales, it's no surprise to me to get defective stuff.
Your videos are very helpful I'll show these chinese scums that I'm not the only one with the issues, they know perfectly all the problems the unit has, they act like it's an isolated issue or me doing something wrong.
I'll make a video as well pointing out everything i found.

I understand your point and you are actually right. Obviously my tolerance threshold is higher, than yours :-)
I understand your problem with the vent now.
I have set my settings to 2013 too, but then I got all kinds of problems as far as I can remember.
Now it is set to 2009 I think.
I will test the settings more thorough when I finally replace my screen and take off the dash again.
I don't use my car every day unfortunately.
I use it maybe once in every other week.
We are sitting ducks at home due to Corona and because I am self employed, and work from home, I don't need to go to work either, so my car is just standing around, but I didn't have a battery issue yet. I have a jump starter though :-)
I have problem with the microphone only, didn't need all the other audio stuff.
Bluetooth microphone problem seems to be common too.
I still hope that they will fix these things.
Joying for example releases updates constantly.
I don't think, these sellers are the actual manufacturers, so hopefully they get updates from the manufacturer and at least one of them will forward it to a user, who will put it on the net :-)
If I get an update, I will post it here.
Otherwise you are right, they are only focused on sales. That's why I am also sure that they are not the manufacturer. They don't try to build a brand, like Joying did.

.
Update, the manufacturer has sent me a software update, like you say 90% of aliexpress sellers are not manufacturers, that's why i got it directly form the manufacturer, it was cheaper and I'm able to have constant communication on wechat.
I'll install the updates and report back.
I uploaded it to my gdrive Incase you want to give it a try.
