We are on the same boat self employed sitting at home bored as hell fiddling with the car..
Update, the manufacturer has sent me a software update, like you say 90% of aliexpress sellers are not manufacturers, that's why i got it directly form the manufacturer, it was cheaper and I'm able to have constant communication on wechat.
I'll install the updates and report back.
I uploaded it to my gdrive Incase you want to give it a try.
Can you please tell me from which seller you bought yours? I'm really considering getting one but with the daughters wedding coming up SWMBO has pulled the purse strings tight 😭. Let us know if the update worked too 👍

Sure "Asvegen" i shared a WhatsApp contact in previous posts, i didn't get if of aliexpress though, i got in direct contact with them.
Update on this i installed the files, now climate works much better faster heating, cold seats menu works correctly now, and cools fast.
One of the files refused to install.
The inverted volume knob is a setting that can be found in the "factory settings menu", named "reverse volume".
Things that remains unsolved.
1) No vents rotation when turning off ac.
2) No beeping on forward parking.
3) The power off physical button next to home button doesn't work.
4) No way to set the clock at the instrument cluster
5) No button on climate menu to control heated steering, after activating it in the car info menu.
As for battery drain, it's might have been stupid me, i left, well i have always had a wireless obd II elm reader in the port, since the radio doesn't completely shut off it might have been communicating with it and caused the battery drain.
The obd II reader by its self has never drained my battery i have had it in there for weeks with the original system.

I assume you have the correct vehicle selected. Just asking because I changed mine on my X150 to different Jaguars and of course a lot of things didn't work and some settings disappear.
Also, can I ask how were you able to add files on a NON rooted system?
I didn't have to add anything, they sent me 3 .apk files i copied them to a pendrive, stuck it in the usb port, opened the file manager that was installed, looked for the files and installed them, just as you would with any .apk file.
There's one file that failed to install, maybe related to a non rooted system as you mentioned, I'll talk to the manufacturer later and update you guys.

Yes i have i tried with many different vehicles too.
Great I'll give that a try, beeing able to completely shut down the system is what is needed.
Update on the battery drain, it strongly believe it's the obd II reader constantly communicating with the radio. I left it for 4 hours voltaje went from 12.7v to 12.6v, i removed it and waited for 2 hours now it reads 12.62v.
Wonder if there's a way of automatically turn the radio bluetooth off, whenever the radio is turned off.
That could, save cutting the acc red wire.

You won't believe what happened.
It turned out that I didn't scratch the screen, but a foil, which was on the screen all the time, but I didn't see it, because it was under the frame of the screen.
When I tried to replace the screen and removed the frame, I realized that there is a foil.
I removed the foil and the screen had only a small little dot as damage. I decided to keep the original screen, because the touchscreen is somehow glued to the display plate and I didn't want to use force trying to remove it.
I was scared that I really break the original screen and can not get it off the plate after all.

That's hilarious 😆, but I'm very happy for you, in case something goes wrong you have a spare screen now.
Try the update it solves a few issues, there's one file that refuses to install, maybe it needs to be rooted, I'm no android expert, maybe you can get it to install.

😂😂😂 glad you didn’t have to go through the trouble.

These head units work with Android Automotive OS. They don't need to be rooted. These are not hacked Android OS systems. The chinese build it with official tools, so the files they release to them are also working without any hacking. That file is probably for a different device.

I will try the update today.
Thanks Hunnenkoenig. I didn't say they were hacked and I've never heard of an android automotive OS. Do you have an example of one on the web? If yours isn't rooted, I would love to take a look at the system files. When I use my file manager, every system file I attempt to access is denied for lack of permission - aka rooted.

There is a big community on the internet that is hacking Android for creating their own, modified operation systems, where hacked and cracked apps work etc. These are called "custom ROMs" and these custom ROMs need a rooted (aka hacked) device to be able to work. Many people might think that the chinese use such ROMS, which isn't true. That's why I said that what I said.
Rooting is hacking. I don't know what YOU mean by "rooting", but I have the feeling, that you misunderstand the word. Rooting an Android device means, hacking the official file system to be able to modify it.
Rooting comes from the word "root". Root is always the superadmin in a computer environment. If you root something, that means, you give yourself root (super admin) privileges. You don't have access to the file system, which means you don't have root privileges, which means, the device is not rooted.
About ANdroid Automotive OS you can find official info on Google by searching for "Android Automotive OS". My results are mostly in german, but here is a wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android_Automotive

I'm aware of rooting. So let's use your term - I know the device is not rooted. I know you don't have admin rights. I asked Carlos if he gained access rights to install the APK's. He didn't need to as the system accepted and installed the APK without rooting (except the one). Not all Android OS do that most do but some are buried in the ROM. It was a simple question asked and answered by Carlos. What I'm attempting on my own system is to vies the APK for climate as I want to determine if I can modify temp readings from Celsius to Fahrenheit. So I asked if I could look at the APK's he received. I can't find them in mine and I know my system is different than the XF but it's a starting point for me.
I copied a couple of APK's from my head unit using a file manager but when I run them using Android SDK Platform Tools on my laptop, I get a message that says they are not APK's. I've downloaded a couple climate APK's from developers which show as valid APK's on my laptop but my head unit won't install them. I don't have issues with the actual system functions, just the readouts in Fahrenheit. There's a button to change from Celsius to Fahrenheit but is does nothing. Also, I noted that Cruise control displays in Kilometers on the center gauge now, not MPH. So in a land where MPH is used, I want to change it.
I suspect I would need to root it to make the changes unless can find the APK(s) and modify them. This could be an issue with Canbus as well, I dunno.
Any help would be appreciated and it would help me if you could share the APK's you recently got from your seller. Mine is less responsive:-)
