Hi everyone, first time posting on here and hoping someone might be able to help.
So my 3.0 V6 diesel XF has a problem which is driving me a bit nuts. So when I first start up the car starts fine, select D, a little delay before engaging and when I press down on the accelerator the engine revs but not much happens and it feels like it's stuck in first but it's not (or like you've got your foot slightly press on a clutch pedal on a manual) It almost feels as if the engine is reving but there's not enough power. It also feels that when you lift your foot off the accelerator it still keeps the sane revs or, slow to come back down. This problem is sometimes intermittent and car drives perfectly but more often it has this issue.
I took it to a Jag specialist who said it could just need gearbox oil and filter doing which they did, no change, also said gearbox seems fine. I thought maybe it's just me but knew it wasn't. Couple of months later it went to a Jaguar garage and they did a full health check and checked the gearbox but they didn't find anything wrong with it. Both garages did say there was a slight oil leak driver side of engine.
I've since had it on SDD and there are no corresponding fault codes. Only one for rain sensor, rear door lock (waiting for part) and that's it. I ran a recommended diagnostic (can't remember the name) that tested the engine in idle and then I had to rev it to 3700rpm and 4200rpm for 30 seconds each. It came back with low pressure leak asking for a smoke test etc, please see pictures. I'm going to do a smoke test on it but was wondering if the reported oil leak and the low pressure all have something to do with this strange issue?
Car still boots it off at high speed but a bit hesitant. Fuel filter done at 95000 miles, new air filter.
I've cleaned the MAFF and MAP sensors with carb cleaner. A mechanic changed alternator, broke my airbox (another story) but that's been repaired and double checked. 103000 miles, it never used to do it, my wife also drives the car and she's noticed it too.
