SDD! can you check the oil temperature of the zf automatic transmission of our cars?
Hello to all, as the title suggests, is it possible to know if our SDD software is able to monitor the oil temperature of the zf? Which version of sdd can do it and especially how to access that page, I was not able to find It. I need to know if he can do it because I have to do the level well and then the procedure must be followed.
The temperature must be between 30 and 50 degrees c ° which turns into 86/122 degrees fahrenheit. If sdd can do it can someone tell me how? or tell me which tool to buy to do it. Thanks.

Yes. You have to go into datalogger and search for trans oil temp. Its in there just a pain to find.
Yes I would like to know where it's at too! Looked around but with SDD you need to enter the problem a certain way for the right results to show up.

Yes, thanks for the information, I will try to find it but in the meantime if someone has already done so and wants to share it with us it will be good.
ok! this morning I found in the sdd the page to check the oil temperature of the zf8hp. post the photo and thanks for the tip. Oil level carried out successfully.
I see your battery symbol is yellow? Needs to be green or bad things can happen. Since you are merely monitoring stuff you should be OK.
Since it's in Italian I am not sure where that is in SDD?
PS; I see your SDD has been updating successfully too! Good job! 159.00 V.243 right now.

Ciao Clubairth1, fai attenzione perché sdd arriva alla versione 160 e rimani bloccato con lo schermo Topix. Ti chiede un nome utente e una password diversi rispetto alle versioni precedenti. A me è già successo e ho dovuto formattare tutto e ricominciare da 157. Adesso con gli aggiornamenti mi avvicino di nuovo al 160. Non so se c'è una soluzione a questo problema.Hi Clubairth1, be careful because sdd comes to version 160 and you get stuck with the Topix screen. It asks you for a different username and password than in previous versions. It has already happened to me and I had to format everything and start over from 157. Now with the updates I am getting closer to 160. I don't know if there is a solution to this problem.

@gimag70 , if I read you initial post correctly, you were checking the temp for the fill process? For those that DIY and don't have SDD, an infrared thermometer pointed at the bottom of the oil pan will give you the same info. They can be had for $20 and if you're changing your own fluid, you'll be under there anyway.
Hello, your thought is right, I measured the bottom of the cup with my thermometer and tell you that there are still 3/5 degrees of difference. (don't affect work), but why buy another tool if you have sdd, among other things, if you have to do the whole level procedure as per the official zf bulletin, you must constantly monitor the fluid temperature.
Just to add to this. Torque Pro has the ability to add Custom PIDS. I added a pack for Mercedes E-class so I could read the transmission temperature on my tablet while working under the car on a lift. This is VERY convenient way to watch the temperature hands free while your trying to put the plug back in!!
Here is the custom PID screen in Torque Pro. Note I have the special Jaguar PIDS also.
And here is the very large display of internal transmission fluid temperature. I can set this across the shop and still read it while I am dripping in ATF!! Got tired of trying to hold a temperature gun and add fluid or put the plug back in at the same time!
We also have this for our Jaguars but I have had trouble getting it to work and I am really more interested in the IAT temperatures for my tune and blower pressure.
Here is the what the dash board looks like for the Jaguar PIDS. Note the transmission temperature. I have these in Imperial units too.
I have attached instructions to add these PIDS if anyone wants to try them out.

Ciao Giuseppe!
Hello Gimag70! Write to me privately if you like ... I live in Italy too and I'm starting to use SDD for my Jaguar XF too. Unfortunately I can't write to you in private because it tells me that my account is limited .. maybe because they have to accept me.
Just a note on SDD because we are suppose to keep all that in a separate thread.
But if you want SDD to stop asking about updating that is easy to do.
"SDDManager.Exe -startup" is the process that keeps checking for updates. I use a free program called CCleaner which allows you to set what runs on startup. Set this process to disable. You could delete it entirely but then you could not turn it back on if needed.
