Default Signs of trouble?

I'm looking at a 2009 XF Supercharged. The seller disclosed that they replaced a leaking transmission mount, and repaired two wheels at a body shop.
Additionally, the following service codes are logged from prior years: K048H, I210G, K032B, K037B, J007A and K033B.

Can anyone tell me what these service codes mean?

Do you think the combination of tranny mount replacement and wheel repair means this vehicle has been abused and might be trouble in the future?

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will weigh-in (I am not an expert by any means), but, depending on mileage (which you didn't provide), I wouldn't necessarily think these were signs of abuse. I am guessing the service codes you mention were things done under warranty or TSB - which means they would be defects/aberrations acknowledged and repaired under warranty by Jaguar (perhaps first evidenced by hard driving, but now addressed). The wheel replacements might show hard driving (not necessarily a terrible thing) or just the condition of roads that were driven on - those are not a defect, just a function of where you drive. Do you know what was replaced under warranty and what was not? That will inform you tremendously. How did the seller drive it (i.e., did he track it? Unlikely but worth asking even if you don't get an honest answer).

I am a super pickiy owner of any car and I constantly abuse my dealer to fix every little thing I find wrong. So the above could be that owner as well keeps requesting things they call faults. First look at wear and tear versus mileage and then go from there to determine if it was ridin hard and put away wet.

No, more a sign of a good hit of a pothole for our houston roads. 2 non repairable wheels and a mount that cracked from the shock of impact with said pothole/curb.
Xf's are great cars

Thanks for all the replies. Miles are about 50k. Trouble is the car is quite a distance away, so I won't be able to see it until I'm fairly committed.

You know i was thinking about this yesturday. I recently replaced a trans mount on a car for an owner impacting a bad pothole at road contruction. I dont rmemebr the car but i think wheels where either repaired or replaced. And i dont remember the car. But like i said its not a common issue which is why the replacement stuck out. Is the car at momentum where i work?

K048 = Repair or replace Trans Control Switch [shifter], may be subject of further action later
I210G = Completed first maintenance [10,000 Mile Service]
K032 = Replace wiper switch and incorrect fuse
K037 = Replace fuel door hinge for door hard to open
J007 = Inspect or repair rear seatbelt "D" rings for free rotation
K033 = Update IPC software to prevent blowing out IPC speaker, replace IPC if already blown.

Nothing there that should scare you.

Agreed, most of those are known issues and it's good to know they are fixed now.

I notice a lot of posts of potential buyers where they are considering buying "sight unseen". This seems to me to be a hostage to fortune, and I see a lot of posts on the other model forums the same. I suppose the rise and rise of the internet means we can look at cars we would not have normally done, but it seems to be greatly dependent on luck whether the car is OK or not when it actually arrives at one's house after purchase.

I'd never buy a car without going out there before paying. I think the poster is planning on traveling out there based on his posts above. The problem is he's out his travel if he goes out there and finds a issue.

I flew out to Florida a few years back to purchase a car I won on Ebay and drive it home. The car had major transmission issues which were not stated in the ad. I walked out and rented a car to drive home.

I just bought my XK8 sight unseen, but I did have it inspected by a garage of my choice prior to placing a deposit and the $500 deposit was the only thing at risk before I could make a personal inspection.
I'd be a lot more nervous about paying upfront and having the vehicle shipped by the seller.

Great comments, all. Nice to know some Momentum folk are listening and pitching in.
The car is on the west coast, and I would have an independent mechanic check it out first. I might fly out and drive back.

But since the car may have taken a hit severe enough to wipe a tranny mount, I'm also worried about further tranny issues which might appear later. It ain't the only Jag out there, and the dealer is still asking a bit too much, IMO. So that one is moving down on my list of candidates.
