Smoke Show
How do you do that - do you really just mash on the break pedal and rev the crap out of the car do you turn anything off ? And after that smoke crap how messed up are the tires ?
But that car need it with only 22K miles on it some lady was driving it before you right !

The rear brakes are fine. They wear when stopping too, the wear from one burnout is maybe 10 high speed or panic stops worth of pad wear based on 5-10 seconds of hard braking per stop. The tires lost maybe 500 miles of potential life. If the tires or brakes were due for replacement anyway who cares? For that matter even if they were new, it's his car and his choice where to spend his money. Its all in good fun.
The technique calls for very light braking after the tires break loose. In fact with the tires spinning fast enough no braking at all. Turn off traction control. Start on cold tires. Make sure there is nobody around and no passenger or you risk a reckless driving charge. Local laws may vary. Be safe.

DSC completly off, light brake pressure, NO you don't just mash it. It's sort of an art with the play between the throttle and brake. You can sit there and smoke them in place if you wish. I was lightly letting off the brake, controlled, to allow the car to move forward. (That was done outside the tire store. Had a nail in the sidewall)
